Description

In recent years the heating of poultry houses with indirect fired unit heaters has increased significantly worldwide. There is a growing awareness that the use of traditional open heaters is a waste of energy as the CO2 and the moisture are also the heat that is ventilated out of the house. High energy prices and government policy force farmers to apply sustainable heating systems with low energy consumption. Increasingly higher demands are also being placed on fire safety and the containment of health risks in the barn. The DXE heaters meet all these requirements.

Energy efficient
The Winterwarm DXE is a gas-fired heater, available in 2 capacities (80 and 100 kW) which combines the advantages of a closed combustion circuit with the advantage that the heater is installed outside the house. Because of the closed combustion system there is no CO2 and no water vapor in the house. This has 2 important effects: a decrease in energy consumption due to lower ventilation requirements, and an increase in yield per cycle due to lower disease and mortality rates. Research shows that up to 25% of energy costs can be saved.

Advantages of outdoor installation
The units are placed outside against a recess in the wall and blow the warm air into the barn. This air is continuously recirculated. The unit is easily accessible from the outside for maintenance and repairs, which limits the risk of contamination in the house. At the front of the unit is a large hatch where the heat exchanger and the fan can be cleaned between rounds. The risk of fire is relatively low as there is no open flame and no electrical wiring in the barn.

Tax pays along
When replacing old air heaters in an existing barn, the entire investment is eligible for the EIA scheme (code 210110b).
This means additional tax deductions with a net financial benefit of approximately 11%.
